Ever since my daughter got this dress for her birthday a long, long sixteen months ago, it has tortured my photographer’s mind in a major way. I had this vision of her wearing the dress in a gorgeous, sunny field of strawberries. Well, we never got a chance to go out picking last year, so every time she has worn the dress since then (or if I even saw it hanging in her closet) I felt a little pang of sadness. The stars finally aligned yesterday. It was an absolutely gorgeous first day of summer, we had a free evening, and thank GOODNESS the dress still fit! We had such a fun time checking out a new-to-us berry farm a few miles from our house. She picked and picked until her little berry-stained fingers couldn’t pick any more, and the photos turned out even sweeter than I imagined they’d be. And the best part? Strawberries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
